One of the most important aspects of dealing with the legal system is understanding what is happening and why.  Attorney Muir takes the extra time needed to explain the legal aspects of a case to his clients.  He draws on his prior experience as a schoolteacher to help explain the legal terminology in everyday language so a client can fully understand his or her case.

Mr. Muir was raised outside Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a large family and developed a fondness for problem solving. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated with honors with a bachelor of science degree in Education. After graduation, he was employed as a school teacher while waiting to be accepted to law school. He attended Duquesne University School of Law and graduated in 1991.

Mr. Muir is married, has two children, and is a member of Benscreek Lutheran Church. He serves as a member on the Board of Directors of Laurel View Village, a convalescent home. He enjoys golf, hunting and fishing and in his spare time he serves as an adjunct Professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Criminology Department.

“I don’t accept every case. I will only pursue a legal action if I believe the case has merit.”

“Furthermore, before I accept a case I advise the client of the legal and financial ramifications of pursuing the case. It is important that the client be a partner in the process and a partner cannot effectively participate if he or she is not fully informed.”

“I return 100% of my phone calls.”
